Have you decided to have a destination wedding in Bermuda?  Well, we welcome you and your family to our lovely island!  I conduct destination weddings and feel that I have played a part in helping to create some lifelong memories. What I am about to share with you are entirely my thoughts and my position when it comes to conducting weddings.

 

• Will I conduct weddings for people coming from abroad?

The answer is yes providing that certain guidelines are followed.

1) The first thing that I would ask of you is that you give me lots of advance warning!

2) Then I would ask you to contact your own minister informing him/her of your plans to be married in Bermuda. Ask your minister if he/she would do some premarital counseling and if they would contact me informing me of their willingness to do so.

3) Once, I have heard from your minister I will contact you to confirm date, time and place.

 

I love doing weddings and to conduct them here in Bermuda is a great experience. However, because getting married is such an important step one must do some serious “soul searching” in the presence of a trained Christian Counselor thus premarital counseling is very important.

 

So, you have contacted me with a proposed date, you have contacted your minister, he/she has contacted me and given a green light, I have contacted you to confirm and we are all set to plan your wedding!

 

Bermuda Legal Requirements

You will also need to contact the Bermuda Wedding Registrar’s Office for your license. They will inform you of their fees and the necessary waiting time between your application for a license and the first possible date for the wedding.

How much does it cost for you to marry us?

Again, speaking only for myself the fees break down as follows:

 

If the wedding takes place in our church:

Church Rental Fee             $200

Church Custodian Fee      $200

Church Organist Fee         $300

Minister’s Fee                    $350

Total                                 $1,050
